Mary Dailey passed away on Dec. 7, 2011, at Vista Oaks of Lakeway. She was born April 25, 1925, to Cleve and Mary Helen Redus in Palestine, Texas. She married Ralph Dailey, the love of her life, shortly after graduation from high school, and was forever a proud Aggie wife.
Mary and Ralph lived in Port Arthur, Texas, Amarillo, Texas, and Cherry Hill, NJ, while raising their children and pursuing Ralph’s career as a chemical engineer for Texaco. When their youngest child graduated from high school they fulfilled their dreams of life abroad, living in Honduras, Venezuela, and Sweden. They returned to the states to reside in New Orleans, LA. Then, upon Ralph’s retirement, they moved to the Ozarks of Missouri.
After Ralph’s death in 1982, Mary moved to Katy, Texas to be closer to her children. She spent her later years in Lakeway, Texas.
Mary was an active volunteer wherever she lived, having served as an Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, and Office Volunteer at various churches, including The First Christian Church of Port Arthur, The First Christian Church of Katy, and The Lakeway Church. She was also a volunteer at hospitals in Amarillo and Katy. She was active in PTA and other school organizations while raising her family.
Her favorite hobbies included crossword puzzles and traveling. One of her favorite quotes was from an obituary she once read that said “She traveled all over the world, except for a lot of places”. That truly applied to Mary’s life as well. She and Ralph were able to visit many countries all over the world, and she continued to travel with friends after his death.
Her favorite scriptures were Psalm 23 and The Lord’s Prayer.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph R. Dailey, Jr., her baby daughter, Jackie Lynn Dailey, and her five brothers.
She is survived by her daughter Nita Perkins and her husband Dan of Lakeway, her son Russell Dailey and his wife Margaret of Beaumont, and her daughter Jean Schilder and her husband Paul of Coppell. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and their spouses, and by 27 great-grandchildren.
Her family would like to thank Mary’s many friends, especially those at The Lakeway Church, the staff at Vista Oaks of Lakeway, Odyssey Hospice, and Milo and Jan Hamilton for their care and devotion to Mary.
There will be a Memorial Service at The Lakeway Church on Friday, December 16 at 11 a.m. There will also be a Memorial Service at The First Christian Church in Port Arthur on Saturday December 17 at 10:00 a.m. Internment will be at Greenlawn Mausoleum in Port Arthur.
Her wishes were that any donations be made to The Lakeway Church Building Fund, 2203 Lakeway Blvd., Lakeway, Texas 78734 or The First Christian Church of Katy, 22101 Morton Ranch Rd., Katy, Texas 77449.
Arrangements by Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis, 411 RR 620 South, Lakeway, Texas 78734 (512) 263-1511. Obituary and memorial guestbook available online at www.wcfish.com

Dorothy Ann Dille
Our beloved mother and grandmother went home peacefully on Dec. 6 after a long, courageous battle. Dottie was born the fifth of nine children on August 25, 1937, in Baltimore, Maryland. After high school, she began her career as a Bell telephone operator and met her life-long best friend, Erma Placzkowski. The friendship they built and the love of Ermaís family were the foundation of Momís beliefs in how she loved and nurtured her family.
In 1959, she married Ronald F. McKay and moved to Chicago, Illinois, where she started her family, always striving to instill the best qualities in her children. Mom was a true believer in hard work, honesty, respect, perseverance and consideration for others. Mom lived in Chicago for over 45 years and eventually retired from AT&T.
Her health became an issue when it was determined that she would have to begin renal dialysis. This lasted four and a half years, but she always took excellent care of herself. In June of 1999 she was informed she would receive a kidney transplant at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. For this we would like to express our undying gratitude to Nicholas Matthew. His beautiful gift allowed her to share 13 more extraordinary years with her family. We would also like to convey our appreciation to the Transplant Coordination Team in Madison for all of the exemplary care and encouragement they gave her. In her gratitude, she made sure that she took exceptional care of her gift. In 2003, she moved to Lakeway, Texas to be closer to her beloved family.
She is preceded in death by her mother Barbara, her father Albert, and her siblings Barbara, John, Carroll, Edward, and Joseph. She is survived by her children Mary Mullins of Pensacola, Florida, Ronald McKay (Colleen) of North Dighton, Massachusetts, Lisa Webb (Tom), of Lakeway, Texas, and Leigh Ann Toste (Carlos) of Lexington, South Carolina. She was a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren: Jeremy, Kate, Dean, Riley, Kassidy, Samantha, Nathan, and two great-grand children Faryn and Bailey. She is survived by her sister Mary Cutler (Murray), her brothers Albert Severn (Beverly) and William Severn, her niece Carol Lynn Williams (Carol Lee), her nephew Michael Cutler (Gwen), her great-nephew Evan and her great-nieces Michelle and Meaghan. Dottie was a dear friend to many and touched more lives than can be listed here.
Visitation was held at 1 p.m. with services following at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11 at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis, Lakeway, Texas.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to The National Kidney Foundation (www.nkft.org).

H. Andrew “Buzz” Bain
After 86 years of a life well-lived, H. Andrew “Buzz” Bain slipped away peacefully on November 19. Buzz confronted poverty as a youngster, war at age 17, and a variety of health issues in his later years. Through it all, he remained a fighter.
Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1925, Buzz endured the hardships of the Great Depression, learning that hard work and education were the keys to his success. He entered the Coast Guard two months after graduating from high school, serving three years before enrolling in Defiance [Ohio] College and Ohio State University on the G.I. Bill. It was at Defiance that he met Winifred Gerken, the woman who would become his wife. After graduating from O.S.U., he entered Capital University Law School, earning his J.D. degree in 1956.
He began his legal career in the Columbus City Attorney’s Office until starting his private practice in 1960. He continued as a successful attorney specializing in family law, probate and personal injury until his retirement in 1988. During that time, he and Winnie enjoyed raising their two daughters and travelled the world, to Russia, Africa, South
America, and the Caribbean, among other locales.
Buzz and Winnie moved to Deland, Florida and enjoyed 15 years of retirement there until Winnie’s death in 2003. They had been married for 56 years. Deeply saddened, but – as always, undaunted – Buzz moved to Austin where, for the last eight years, he spent time with his family, writing, and expanding his vast knowledge of American history.
He will always be remembered for his insight, integrity, wisdom, and, above all, his abiding love for Winnie and their family.
Buzz leaves behind his daughter Patricia Bain Bachner and her husband, John, of Great Falls, VA; his daughter Elizabeth Bain Nikolovski and husband, Steve, of Lakeway, TX; and his four grandchildren, Trevor, Corey Jean, Zachary, and Drew.
Friends and family gathered for a celebration of his life on Monday, Nov. 21at Weed-Corley-Fish Lake Travis.
Memorial donations may be made to Marietta College, 215 5th Street, Marietta, OH 45750.
Lois Isabelle Anderson
Lois Isabelle Anderson Brady was born on Oct. 31, 1921. She died on Nov. 7, 2011. At the time of her death she was a resident of Park Bend Health Center.
She was born on a farm located between Leander and Rock Round to David William Anderson (1888-1973) and Margaret Emily Greer Anderson (1884-1973). All her siblings, Wilma Chapin of Georgetown, Sally Harris of Austin, Ben Anderson of Temple, Brady Anderson of Round Rock and Alex Anderson of Merced, California, preceded her in death.
She was married to Wiley Taft Brady (1911-1971). Wiley always called her Susie-no one knew why. She was a loving wife and good mother. She leaves two daughters, Elaina Andrea Brady of Austin and Karen Ann Brady of Katy. Both daughters are attorneys. She leaves three grandchildren, Emily Andrea Shelton, an attorney in Houston, Matthew Michael Shelton, a former Marine who is working in Austin, and John Henry Alsop, V., a student at A & M University.
Lois was the valedictorian of her graduation class from Leander High School. During her working life Lois was employed at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Texas Employment Commission and the U.S. Selective Service.
Lois was a Democratic Precinct Chairwoman for many years and active in the Parent Teacher Association. When Karen was born twelve years after Elaine, Lois said, “Oh goodness, 24 years in the PTA.”
Lois loved animals and had too many cats to count, a pet squirrel and a pet skunk. She was a festive person and loved all holidays. Without spending a lot of money her Christmases were lavish. At Easter she even insisted that her grown daughters hunt for Easter eggs.
The family would like to thank James and Louis Triplett for their continued devotion to our mother for the past years. They were always ready to help her and she was delighted with their company.
The funeral arrangements are being handled by Weed-Corley Fish Lake Travis and she will be buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Georgetown.
A memorial graveside service was held Nov. 12 at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Georgetown, Texas.

Richard G. (Dick) Ingraham was born in Springfield, Ohio to DeForest and Katherine Deitz Ingerham on December 20, 1925 and passed onto the next life on Oct. 25, 2011 in Sugar Land, Texas.
Dick grew up and attended school in Athens, Ohio. He graduated high school at age 16 then went straight onto Ohio University. However, he enlisted in the Army as soon as he was old enough for World War II. He attended OCS school and qualified to drive DUCK landing craft, and was just ready to ship out to the Pacific front when VJ day occurred.
Dick returned to Ohio University, majored in Industrial Engineering, and there he met Barbara Jones, whom he married in 1949. Dick remained in the Army reserves and the newly married couple moved to Albany, New York, where he started work for Albany Felt Company. He was then called back to active duty during the Korean conflict and stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. Barbara accompanied him and both fell in love with Europe.
After the Korean War, they returned to Albany and he to Albany Felt Company, and they had daughters Susan and Sally. In 1959, Dick accepted the position of Plant Manager for the plant in Cowansville, Quebec and they were off to Canada. Then in 1962 they moved to the Netherlands where Dick built a new plant and became General Manager of Albany Nordiska Felt. The family lived in Holland for 5 years, traveled extensively throughout Europe, and bonded tightly. In 1967, they returned to Albany where Dick held various positions with the company that was now Albany International, including Assistant to the President, President of the Plastic Products Division, and VP of Strategic Planning.
After retiring in 1984, Dick and Barbara relocated to The Hills of Lakeway where he spent over 20 years doing consulting and volunteer work, and living a wonderful life of retirement, travel and socializing. In 2006 they moved to Sugar Land to be closer to their children and grandchildren as health issues developed. Unfortunately, Dick took a bad fall in April of this year and broke his neck, and even after undergoing a spinal fusion, was basically incapacitated and had to be in a skilled nursing home away from his wife. He passed away Oct. 25.
Dick is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara, his sister Janet and brother-in-law Bob Jensen in Indiana, daughter Susan Ingraham Ashley and her husband Morris, daughter Sally Ashley and her husband Tim, and grandchildren Jennifer Ashley Shaw and Tom Ashley.
A memorial service will be held at the Lakeway Church in Lakeway, Texas on Nov. 19 at 3 p.m.
