This fall, millions of visitors and Austin residents enjoyed seeing the full-size Art Cows lining the streets of downtown Austin.

On Sunday, Nov.13, 2011 there was a Live Auction Event, with special guest Jay Leno, held at the ACL Moody Theater.
Forty cows from the herd went up for auction. Each cow was created by local Austin artists and featured themes highlighting the great state of Texas. The proceeds from the cow event and auction benefited the Superhero Kids Endowment at Dell Children’s Medical Blood and Cancer Center.
Mixed media artist Bobby Hamric created the cow design in the picture. His” Hairy Deer, Play a Tune” cow is a combination of Texas animals and music that blend into a guitar-playing troubadour Cow-Deer-Bison. Bobby who has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at Austin has participated in the City of Austin Art in Public Places program, as well as Austin Guitartown.
