It was right at six years ago that Dr. Kirk Edeker was welcomed into the Lake Travis fold at Fire of Life Chiropractic in Lakeway
Here is the article introducing Dr. Cordoba and saying goodbye from us. We actually had the same type of article introducing us almost 6 years ago. But now the torch is being passed to Dr. James R. Cordoba, D.C.
“First of all, I would like to thank Dr. Kurt and his family for this wonderful opportunity to take care of and treat his patients at Fire for Life Chiropractic,” Cordoba said. “I consider it an honor and I will do everything possible to ensure their optimal health and well-being.”
Edeker is “pumped up” about his new ine of exercise equipment, New Motion Machine, allows anyone in the gym to get a better work out, use more muscle and burn more calories in less time. He plans to concentrate on the promising business venture.
But Cordoba is more than up to the challenge of taking Edeker’s patient work.
“I began my undergraduate studies at the University of Texas at Austin several years ago; however graduated with a political science degree from the University of Houston.” Cordoba said. “Thereafter, I accomplished my doctorate degree in chiropractic from Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas, just outside of Houston. Having been practicing for the past five years, I believe in the healing power of chiropractic now more so than I did while I was a student.
“I have obtained an insurmountable amount of experience from the clinics and doctors that I have worked with these past several years,
Cordoba added. “I also am a licensed acupuncturist and will be offering this treatment in the clinic as well. Acupuncture is relatively painless and very effective in the treatment against migraines, weight-loss, joint pain, low back and neck pain, anxiety, depression, and a host of other illnesses.”
Cordoba said he has”a great passion for athletics and knowledge of nutrition and rehabilitation techniques.”
“I train as a body builder, I am a 2nd degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and I am an avid runner.” Cordoba said. “I continue to pursue post-graduate education that allows me to keep up with the latest medical research that is out there surrounding neuromuscular and non-traumatic repetitive type of sports injuries. There is so much new research and technology that a doctor must continue to educate himself or herself in order to offer the patient the best possible care- that is my number one goal. I love practicing chiropractic and strive to offer the patient my fullest time and attention in helping them achieve their health goals.”
The clinic will hold a “meet and greet” with family and friends the Sept. 9 at the Fire for Life Chiropractic office at 6 p.m. The office is located at 1200 Lakeway Dr. Ste. B17 in the Lakeway Village Square.

I did acupuncture for over ten years I really wish I had one for myself that was as good as Dr Cordoba
