Lake Travis Fire Rescue-Travis County Emergency Services District No. 6 invites the public to pre-register now for several community CPR and first-aid courses starting this fall.

All classes will be conducted at the LTFR office, 15304 Pheasant Lane, Suite 107, Lakeway, TX 78734. Class size is limited to eight people.
Courses are:
3 Heartsaver AED — 9 a.m.-noon Sept. 18 and in 2011 on Jan. 15, Feb. 19, March 19, July 16. This class is for all individuals needing the basic CPR and AED skills for home or for work requirements, including a course completion card. A $25 fee includes course instruction, student workbook and course completion card;
3 Friends & Family CPR — 9 a.m.-noon Oct. 16. This class if for anyone who wants to learn CPR (adult, child or infant), but does not need a course completion card in CPR. A $15 fee includes course instruction and student workbook;
3 BLS for Healthcare Providers – 8 a.m.-noon Nov. 20 and April 16, 2011. This course is for certified or uncertified, licensed or unlicensed healthcare providers, such as EMTs, PAs, physical and occupational therapists, medical or nursing students and other occupations. A $25 fee includes course instruction, student workbook and course completion card;
3 Heartsaver First Aid with CPR and AED – 8 a.m.-noon May 21, 2011. This class is for all individuals who have a duty to respond to first aid or cardiac emergency due to job responsibilities or regulatory requirements such as security and airline personnel, lifeguards, law enforcement officers, firefighters, teachers and others. A $25 fee includes course instruction, student workbook and course completion card; and,
3 Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid – 9 a.m.-noon June 18, 2011. This class is for any individual, such as parents, child care workers, camp counselors, foster care workers or coaches, wanting to learn how to manage illness and injuries to a child during the first few minutes of an emergency until professional help arrives. A $25 fee includes course instruction, student workbook and course completion card.
