Haythem

In the past two years, local developer Haythem Dawlett has contributed funds that have allowed the purchase of a sophisticated video editing system used by coaches and players on the Lake Travis High School football team.

The system allows the team to use footage and data to break down an opponent to the finest detail — from down and distance to hash marks and specific play tendencies. Coaches and players can generate scouting reports that provide a great advantage in preparing for games.

Recently, Dawlett contributed $7,000 from Tuscan Village and Rough Hollow, both in Lakeway, as well as two new red and black Dell laptop computers to the Lake Travis High School football program for use by the coaches.

Coaches on the staff will be able to place video and data pulled from the server onto their new laptops to take home, thus allowing them to spend more time with their families while having the flexibility in preparing for opponents.

Chad Morris, who just stepped down as the head football coach at Lake Travis to join the staff of University of Tulsa, said that he has been coaching for 17 years and this video editing equipment is the most sophisticated of its type that he’s ever seen.
