Lake Travis head coach Chad Morris’ decision on his future is one of the best kept secrets going right now. Not even former Cavalier Harry Hatch knows what will happen for sure, and he’s on the roster at the University of Tulsa, where Morris has been offered a coaching position as part of a five-year guaranteed deal, according to a source close to the situation.
“I’m not really sure what’s going on to be honest,” Hatch said via text Friday night. “I hear they’ve offered him a job but other than that I don’t really know anything.”
Still, the former all-state linebacker and current defensive back was excited about the proposition of being reunited with his old coach.
“That would be really cool,” Hatch said. “He’s done such a great job at Lake Travis, I’m sure if he came here he would do some really good things.”
LTISD and Morris still have no official comment on the situation, and attempts to reach the coach Friday by multiple outlets went unanswered.
It still appears the next time Morris will publicly appear will be Sunday during the Cavaliers’ championship parade at 2 p.m. in the Hill Country Galleria.
