shoal creek

Now that the hustle and bustle of the holidays are over, don’t let those winter doldrums get you down.

Mark Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. on your calendar and plan to attend the Lakeway Seton Associates’ Annual Tea at the Hills Country Club. If you’ve never been to the Seton Tea before, you’re in for a real treat.
Local organizations and businesses sponsor a table and decorate it any way they choose. The tables showcase the most exquisite table settings designed around a theme of their choosing.
One year, the table that won “Best of Show” had a Mari Gras theme with a decorated mannequin on the table, and ladies masqueraded in beautiful costumes. Their table decorations were awesome. The whole presentation literally took your breath away.
You don’t have to be part of a local organization or business. Any group can participate. All it takes is a little bit of artistic talent and a desire to make your table the most unique and beautiful.
If you plan to decorate a table, please be at the Hills Waterfall Dining Room by 8 a.m., and be finished by 12:30 p.m. Each table will accommodate seating for 8-10 people. If you are interested in securing a table of your own to decorate, please complete the registration form below and mail to Nancy Clayton, 110 Melody, Lakeway, 78734.
There is no fee to decorate a table. The deadline for reserving a table is Monday, Feb. 15.
If decorating a table is not your thing, but you would like to come and join the fun looking at all the tables, (the creativity of the designers will amaze you, I promise) and vote for your favorite table, you’re more than welcome.
Tickets are $30 per person, and include a traditional English afternoon tea cuisine.
All proceeds benefit Seton Shoal Creek Psychiatric Hospital in Austin, the only acute care psychiatric hospital in Central Texas that treats children, teens and adults.
The hospital offers both in-patient and outpatient programs for people struggling with mental disorders, chemical dependency, detoxification, emotional and/or behavioral problems.
