The Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the area’s top citizens and businesses to be revealed at the 18th Annual Community Awards Banquet on Saturday, Jan. 30.

The event will be held at the Lakeway Resort and Spa in the Vistas Ballroom. The event will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by the dinner and awards presentation at 7:30 p.m.
“Denim and Diamonds is the theme for the event to honor those businesses and individuals that make Lake Travis such a wonderful place to live,” said chamber president Laura Mitchell. “The Vistas Ballroom at the Lakeway Resort and Spa will be filled with boots and bling for a relaxed, yet elegant evening.”
Presented by Prosperity Bank, award categories include Business of the Year, New Young Business of the Year (under five years in business), Citizen of the Year, Unsung Hero, Shining Star and Rising Star.
“Tickets, sponsorships, special guest room rates and nominations for awards are now open online at www.laketravischamber.com,” Mitchell said. The deadline for award nominations is Thursday, Jan. 21.”
Last year, Will Mitchell and Haythem Dawlett were named co-Citizens of the Year. Bob Stubbs of Gimme’s, Etc., earned Volunteer of the Year. The Hill Country Galleria was named the “New Young Business of the Year” by the chamber. Sam Chapman was named the “Unsung Hero.” The “Shining Star” award was given to the Lakeway/Lake Travis Rotary Club. The Lake Travis High School Interact Club, sponsored by the Lakeway/Lake Travis Rotary Club, was named the “Rising Star” award winner. Longtime banquet emcee Jim Gentil was also given a “Special Recognition” award. He will return to host the banquet this year.
