shoes

Cliff Fisher has learned to trust his instincts when it comes to shoes — and perhaps that is part of his secret to success at Mad About Shoes.

Located in the Lakeway Commons — although it has now moved into Suite A109 between Finleys and Starbucks — Fisher has come to understand his clientele — and he certainly knows womens shoes.
While it may be winter, this is a season of color — as evidenced by the new Etnick Mola — a collection of hand-sewn fabric shoes made by women from the Kuna Tribe of South America.
“We are watching them — they could take off,” Fisher said. “We are going to do a show in the first part of December to see if they win acceptance from our customers.”
And they could just be a hit. The collection is colorful and very much in keeping with the Southwest, flavors that always make a nice match in the Texas Hill Country.
When it comes to women’s shoes, fads ebb and flow.
“It’s like everything else in life — it comes and goes,” Fisher observed. “For example — what happened in the 1940s and the 70s — with those high, high heels — are coming back.”
In some areas of the nation, Western Wear comes and goes — but not in Texas. Down here, Western Wear is always in style.
