Last year’s inaugural Rolling Sculpture Car Show was a smash hit. It returns to the Hill Country Galleria this Sunday between 12-6 p.m. The event is free to the public.

Organizers are excited because 100 classic automobiles have pre-registered to attend the event. And just because you haven’t registered yet, doesn’t mean you can’t bring your classic jalopy to the event.
“All the proceeds benefit the Bee Cave Public Library, Last year we gave the library a check for $1,000,” Dean Mericas, the coordinator of the show. “This year, we hope to double that amount.”
Mericas said that this show is unusual. Sponsors of the event define the categories. For example, the Lake Travis View will have “the Editor’s Choice” award and the Lake Travis Home Team, a local realty group, will be presenting an award to the car they’d “most want to see parked in their driveway.”
One thing is certain, the event is a lot of fun and allows those visiting the show to do some shopping at the same time.
“We will have live music,” Mericas said. “There is a movie theatre, as well a restaurants and bars. Folks can make a day of it.”
The main street in the Hill Country Galleria will be closed off the displaying of automobiles; however, there is plenty of parking for patrons and shoppers alike including open and covered spaces. All parking is free.
A car entered into the Rolling Sculpture event qualifies if it is beautiful in the eye of its beholder/owner.
“We don’t discriminate: collector cars, antiques, modern classics, Detroit Iron, street rods, foreign sports and exotics — even art cars and Batmobiles are all welcome,” Mericas added.
Regisrtation for show cars is $25.
“Hill Country Galleria is the perfect venue for an event such as the Rolling Sculpture Car Show,” said Tiffany Hardt, assistant property manager, Hill Country Galleria. “Not only will families see more than 200 unique automobiles, but the event also supports a great institution, the local Bee Cave library.”
