The Oasis is holding its 2009 Sunset Photo Contest. The grand prize is a five-day four night tropical excursion at an exclusive private Villa in Acapulco (includes airfare and lodging).

Other prizes include a dinner party for 10 in one of the restaurant’s private rooms overlooking Lake Travis with your own personal chef; a two night stay at the Beautiful Vintage Villa’s Bed & Breakfast; a night’s stay at the Historic Driskill Hotel; a night stay at the Fabulous Hyatt Hotel or the Famous Radisson Hotel; Family Passes to the Austin Art Museum and Austin Parks, Gliding Revolution Sedgeway Tours, Golf Passes for Horseshoe Bay Resort, Zachary Scott Theatre, Esther’s Follies, Capitol City Comedy Club, Alamo Draft House, Cinemark and Regal Theaters, Six Flags Over Texas, Round Rock Express, Services from Nelda’s Tailors, Austin Shoe Hospital, Affordable Sound, Jerry Jordan Dance Studios, Sassen Boutique, Oh Yeah!, Cupcake by The Lake, Camera Equipment, Spa Treatments, Gift Certificates from retail venues all around Austin, and more.
Categories include:
3 Senior Citizen (65+);
3 Adult (18 and over); and
3 Young Photographer (17 and under).
The photo contest requires a $5 entry fee per person.
Multiple entries will be accepted for $5 each (cash or check only) — but, only one prize awarded per person in each category.
Pictures must be taken from or at The Oasis.
Entrants must submit only 8×10 photos — one hardcopy and a copy of each photo on a CD to The Oasis either by mail or hand delivered. The Oasis is located at 6550 Comanche Trail, Austin, 78732. Entry fee must accompany photo.
Submitted photos become Oasis property. Pictures must be submitted no later than: Monday, Oct. 19 before 5 p.m.
All entries will then be displayed at The Oasis from Thursday, Oct. 22-Wednesday, Nov. 4. Guests (the public) will be allowed to vote for their favorite. During the awards ceremony a People’s Choice Award will be presented.
The judging and awards ceremony/Party will be held Thursday, Nov. 5.
Entrants or a representative must be present to win with a verifiable identity.

All entry fees must be made by cash or check to The Oasis Restaurant. For those contestants who are under the age of 18, the restaurant will present several “Young Photographer” prizes along with an engraved recognition plaque and/or trophy.
