The Victim Services Division of the Travis County Sheriff’s Office is currently involved in a recruiting effort to recruit volunteers to participate in our crime scene response program. In order to provide services to victims in a fast and efficient manner we need to increase our volunteer base.

“The Sheriff’s Office has a very strong, and long-standing, commitment to victims of crime and strives to provide information, referrals and resources to begin the journey of healing,” according to spokesperson Roger Wade. “We need people who are interested in helping their community by working alongside Sheriff’s Deputies to provide healing support to victims when they need it most, at the crime scene.”
Volunteers must complete training that will give them all the information needed to help their neighbors in their time of need. Training will begin Oct. 19, and will continue until Nov. 6.
Training will be at the Sheriff’s Office, 5555 Airport Blvd., on Mondays and Thursdays from 6-9 p.m. as well as Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Volunteers must also be 21 years of age, have a clear criminal history, and willing to commit one year to the Victim Services Program.
