When is the last time you visited the library? Did you know that Lake Travis Community Library carries audiobooks, large print titles, board books for toddlers, music, magazines, electronic books, databases, magazines for children, stuffed animal book buddies, and, of course, books for all ages?
If you need a free way to fill your lazy summer afternoons, visit Lake Travis Community Library.
The LTCL Summer Reading Program will come to a close with a finale celebration at Lakeway Pavilion on Saturday, August 15 at 10:30 a.m. Dynamic performer Lucas Miller will entertain all ages with songs about animals and science. Clever melodies and humorous tunes will amuse children while also teaching lessons about the animal kingdom. Participants in the reading program will be awarded certificates and prizes, and all ages are welcome. Homemade cookies, lemonade, and other refreshments will be served. The Lakeway Pavilion is located at 502 Hurst Creek Road.
“We have had record participation in the reading program this summer,” said Library Director Morgan McMillian. “I hope that many people will attend the finale on Saturday so that we can celebrate the end of summer together.”
In addition to the performance in the park, the library continues to offer its other regular programs. Poetry will be the theme for preschool story time on Monday, August 17 at 10:30 a.m. Stay for the accompanying craft. Do you know any toddlers who like dinosaurs? Be sure to attend the story time on Tuesday, August 18 at 10:30 a.m. and create your own personal dinosaur! Babies are always welcome at Lake Travis Community Library for an interactive story time on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. with songs, finger-plays, activities, and more.
Lake Travis Community Library holds events for adults as well. On Friday, August 14 (and every Friday), genealogy enthusiasts meet at 9 a.m. before the library opens to share information, use computer databases, and get advice from experts. The adult Craft Club will meet at Michaels Arts and Crafts Store at 12770 Shops Parkway, Suite 100 from 7 to 9 p.m on Monday, August 17. Participants will learn to make cards, knit, or can bring their own project of choice. See you at the library!

Glad to see someone spreading the word about the Lake Travis Library events. I mentioned it to a friend the other day and he didn’t even know LT had a library.
