Sisters in Crime will meet Aug. 9 with David Heavener, an award winning filmmaker, as the guest speaker.

Heavener he has done it all by writing, directing, producing and starring in over 30 feature films and distributing hundreds more. He has directed such Hollywood greats as Academy Award winner Martin Landau and nominees Tony Curtis, Sally Kirkland and Karen Black.
Many of Heavener’s films have aired on HBO, Showtime and USA Network. He has been featured on “Entertainment Tonight” and in “Backstage West.” David’s recent project, “Dawn Of The Living Dead,” was released on DVD in August ‘07 and spent 12 consecutive weeks on Wal-Mart’s top 10 list for DVD sales.
Sisters in Crime Heart of Texas Chapter, which has several Lake Travis area resident members, meets monthly on the second Sunday of the month at 2 p.m. at the Westlake Barnes & Noble bookstore, located at the southeast corner of Loop 360 and Bee Cave Road, in The Village at Westlake shopping center.
