If keeping children or grandchildren occupied this summer becomes a bit overwhelming, then maybe it’s time to get them involved in the community. The Lakeway Activity Center (LAC) has some exciting events planned that are sure to keep even the children with short attention spans busy.

For those dramatic characters in the family, the LAC offers Theater from Every Angle, an advanced class that allows teens from 12-18 to explore all aspects of the theatrical world. They will be involved in everything from choosing a show, auditioning, casting and directing to, finally, performing in front of family and friends on the center’s very own stage. The class is held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. starting June 29-July 10, which is also the performance day. It is $425 for members of the center and $468 for non-members.
If acting just doesn’t sound like fun, then try making unique and original, not to mention Eco-Friendly, jewelry with newcomer Colleen Hannafin. Hannafin has been teaching both children and adults about the art of making jewelry for about five years as well as creating and designing her own trinkets. All supplies for this class are included but limited, so make sure to sign up a week prior to the class of interest.
• Pre-school is welcome on Mondays from 1:30-2:15 p.m. It is $20 for members of the center and $22 for non-members.

Children will learn how to improve on balance, strength, coordination, timing, concentration and listening skills while getting active and having fun. Morning and afternoon sessions are available and coaches will stay with the all day campers during lunchtime.
