Lake Travis area residents will observe the third annual Memorial Day Service at Heritage Park, the home of Lakeway’s Spirit of Freedom Memorial, on Monday, May 25 at 10 a.m. The Lohmann’s Crossing Daughters of the American Revolution sponsor the event.

Charles McClure, editor of the Lake Travis View, will be the featured speaker. Welcoming comments will be made by recently elected Lakeway mayor, Dave DeOme.

A color guard will be furnished by the Lakeway Police Department and the Emmaus Church Boy Scout Troop 52 will lead the pledges to the American and Texas flags.

Guest vocalist is David Beussman. Sue Wright, Regent of the Lohmann’s Ford Chapter of the DAR, will give the invocation. Refreshments, including homemade cookies, will be provided by the DAR after the service. Heritage Park is located in Lakeway at the corner of Lohman’s Crossing Road and Hurst Creek Road. Early arrival is encouraged due to limited parking.

Parking is also available at the vacant lot across from Heritage Park at Hurst Creek Road and at the Lakeway MUD.
