Lakeway has a new mayor and the Lake Travis ISD Board of Trustees has a new member, and neither had to sweat out a long Saturday night awaiting election results.

Dave DeOme, a current councilman, won the City of Lakeway’s Mayoral race, beating Jerry Stein by a 3-1 margin. Lisa Johnson won the placeĀ 2 spot on the school board by a 9-1 margin over David Lovelace. In actual votes, DeOme garnered 755 votes to Stein’s 254. Johnson easily outdistanced Lovelace by a 2,005-245 count.

Saturday night also saw two new faces elected to Lakeway’s City Council. Incumbent Alan Tye won reelection with 31.4 percent of the vote. He’ll be joined on the council by new members Joe Bain Jr. (29 percent) and Dennis Wallace (23 percent). Chris Wood (15 percent) was the odd man out, finishing fourth in the voting for the three seats.

In a tight race for three spots on the City of Bee Cave’s council, incumbent Bill Goodwin, Jack McCool and Bob Dorsett Jr. were voted onto the council. Goodwin (24 percent), McCool (23 percent) and Dorsett (20 percent) out-distanced Stephen England and Rusty Kilgo.

Bee Cave voters also almost unanimously (91 percent) to re-authorize a quarter-cent sales tax to fund road upgrades and maintenance. Lakeway voters decided similarly on a similar proposition with 79 percent of the voters deciding to re-authorize a quarter-cent sales tax to fund road upgrades and maintenance.

In the Village of the Hills, Doug Lindren won the Mayor’s seat, defeating Steve Leipsner with more than 75 percent of the vote.
