Lake Travis area voters will decide their local elections this Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
In Lakeway, current Councilman Dave DeOme and Jerry Stein will vie for the mayor’s seat to succeed Steve Swan, who is stepping down.
Incumbent Alan Tye and newcomers Joe D. Bain Jr., Dennis Wallace and Chris Wood will compete for three vacant seats on the council. Also on the ballot for consideration of approval is City of Lakeway Prop. 1, which reauthorizes a local sales and use tax in the City of Lakeway at the rate of one fourth of one percent to provide revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets.

Down the road in Bee Cave, five candidates will run for three open seats on the Bee Cave City Council. They are Stephen England, Bob Dorsett Jr., Jack McCool, Rusty Kilgo, and incumbent councilman Bill Goodwin.
The city will also have a proposition item on the ballot asking “Shall the City Council of the City of Bee Cave, Texas, be re-authorized to impose the local sales and use tax in the City of Bee Cave, Texas at the rate of one-fourth of one percent to continue providing revenue for maintenance and repair of municipal streets?”

Briarcliff will not conduct a contested election. Current Alderman Al Hostetler is running unopposed for mayor while current Mayor Robert Pigg and incumbent Alderman Linda Aldrich are running unchecked for the two vacant seats on the board. Under state law, no election is required.
The Village of Briarcliff offices are located at 402 Sleat Drive, Briarcliff. It is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. For more information call 264-2274.
In the Hills, Mayor Virginia Jones has chosen not to run again, leaving Steve Leipsner and Doug Lindgren vying for the vacant spot. Incumbent Aldermen Lloyd Troelzsch and J.R. Smith will run unimpeded for the board.
The Village of the Hills Offices, located at 102 Trophy Drive, The Hills, is open from 8:30 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. For more information call 261-6281.
The Lake Travis Independent School District Board of Trustees will see some new faces this election as incumbents Jim Cummings, Place 1, and Kim Nixon, Place 2, have opted not to run for reelection.
Guy Clayton is running unopposed for the vacant seat left by Cummings while Lisa Kay Johnson and David K. Lovelace will contend for Place 2.
The LTISD administrative office, just off of RR 620 at 3322 RR 620 South, is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. For more information, call 533-6000.
Early voting closed May 5 and the polls will open at 7 a.m. Saturday morning.

• Precinct 314 (recently combined with Precinct 324): Bee Cave City Hall, 4000 Galleria Parkway, Bee Cave.
• Precinct 319 (recently combined with Precinct 320): Lakeway Activity Center, 105 Cross Creek Drive, Lakeway.
• Precinct 346: Serene Hills Elementary School, 3301 Serene Hills Drive, Lakeway.
• Precinct 359: Hudson Bend Middle School, 15600 Lariat Trail, Austin.
• Precinct 361: West Rural Community Center, 8656-A Texas 71 West, Bee Cave.
