The City of Lakeway will hold a community meeting tonight, March 12 at 6:30 p.m., in the City Hall Chamber to discuss the continuing efforts to eradicate the feral dog problem. Public participation is encouraged.

In recent weeks, dog attacks have left more than 50 livestock animals dead on the south shore of Lake Travis.
Animal Control Officer Todd Radford said city police held a round table discussion with Precinct 3 County Commissioner Karen Huber and several people from the Travis County Sheriff’s Officer, Animal Control, Parks Department, and representatives from Pope Farm.
The Travis County Animal Control has also begun an education effort in Apache Shores to teach people the civil and criminal liability associated with letting your dogs run loose.
Lakeway Police have picked up a few dogs in the area and issued some citations.

I believe Travis County Animal Control needs to start in LAKEWAY to educate those people first. DAILY I see more loose dogs in Lakeway than Apache Shores. I have filed complaints about bad dogs in Lakeway to no avail. Those same dogs still run loose after months of trying to get resolution. I would suggest TCAC start with Lakeway Police Department in their efforts to educate.
