Dave DeOme, currently a Councilmember for the City of Lakeway, has announced his intention to run for the position of Mayor of the City of Lakeway in the upcoming May election.

 DeOme is an experienced yet independent voice for all of the citizens of Lakeway. He supports carefully managed growth consistent with a strict interpretation of Lakeway’s Comprehensive Plan, Land Use and Zoning Ordinances. He was one of the original supporters of The Lakeway Regional Medical Center and is committed to continue supporting the project. His willingness to listen to all parties and his openness and availability to discuss suggestions and concerns regarding Lakeway’s future makes him an ideal mayoral candidate.
DeOme believes in fiscal and budget conservatism. He has never voted to raise the City’s property tax rate and is committed to avoid doing so, if at all possible, when developing future City budgets. He believes the cuts made in the City’s expenses during last August’s budget planning process were necessary and have proven to be wise budget planning during these difficult economic times
DeOme is a two term Councilmember who has also held the position of Mayor Pro Tem. He has served as City Council Liaison to the Lakeway Municipal Utility District, the Zoning and Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission and the Arts and Beautification Committee.
The volunteer spirit of its citizens is one of the major differences between Lakeway and many other cities. DeOme is committed to continuing and enhancing the City of Lakeway’s Volunteers program. Dave has supported our community by being an active volunteer. He is a member and previously a board member of Lakeway Friends of the Parks. He has also previously served as a member of the Building Commission and the Economic Development Committee for the City of Lakeway. He serves as a board member and past president of the ExxonMobil Retirees Club of Austin and has been a member of the Lakeway Church for three years participating in a number of the church’s outreach programs.
DeOme retired from ExxonMobil Corporation after a thirty-three year career. He has an engineering degree from Northeastern University in Boston and an MBA in finance from Tulane University. Dave is married to Linda DeOme and they have three children. Daughter, Robin, lives in Lakeway with her husband, Chris, and children, Carson and Kate. Sean is a Dell employee living in Austin. Stephen, wife, Kadee, and daughter, Addison, live in Mansfield, Texas. He is a sergeant with the City of Arlington Police Department.
