Lake Travis Independent School District Assistant Superintendent for Business and Financial Services Bob Hart has announced his retirement at the end of this current school year. For 20 years he has been a fixture at the school district.

Few would argue that Hart has been the consummate public servant and professional. His sharp pencil has saved district taxpayers literally millions of dollars over his career.
When the Texas Legislature revised the school finance law two years ago, Hart, the kind of guy who leaves no stone unturned, recognized that districts across the state would experience a short fall with in a couple of years. He immediately advised the LTISD board of trustees and the district began making a contingency plan. Good thing too, because just as forecasted, schools did experience a funding gap, but LTISD was ready thanks to Hart’s keen insight. Arguably no one in Texas has a better grasp of the complicated state school finance law then Bob Hart.
He has also always been open, available, candid and courteous to this newspaper. Hart can explain very complicated budget numbers in a clear and concise manner that has always benefitted all the residents within LTISD’s borders.
He had done great things for the district and his personal conduct has always been exemplary. He truly is a role model and will be greatly missed by all who know him.
Happy trails Bob. You certainly have earned your retirement.
